Motorcycle Tire Pressure Tips

All right, in this article we’re talking about tire pressure on motorcycles. This came up from a group discussion that I saw and it reminded me of good points that I think a lot of folks forget about because we not only have motorcycles, but we’ve got regular four wheel vehicles, that a good number of folks are weekend warriors with bikes. Need new tires? You can get them via these motorcycle importers.

They don’t ride them every day. You’re riding your everyday four wheel vehicle to and from work and picking up the kids and everything else. And what we tend to forget as motorcycle riders is the motorcycle tires don’t hold as much air as your ordinary tire, which is typically 32 to 35 PSI.

So what a lot of folks do is we get lulled into the thought process of check your air pressure on your bike tires just as much as you do your other vehicles. And you can’t do that because there’s so much less air naturally in the bike tires than an ordinary four wheel vehicle. So a couple of tips and things for you real quick as a reminder, or if you’re a new writer to keep in mind going forward. It’s recommended that you check your motorcycle tire pressure once a week.

Now obviously that can depend on how much you use it. If you’re a weekend warrior and you may ride once a week, maybe you don’t need to do it quite once a week, but definitely would want to do it way more often than you’re checking if at all, your other vehicles your four wheel vehicles tire pressure. So that’s number one. Check it more frequently. It’s obviously a very important issue. You lose a lot of traction, you lose a lot of feel, and it’s not as safe. So be careful.

Number two. When it comes to things that you can do, number one, get a compressor, get a gauge. There’s a lot of these handheld electronic air pressure compressors and things like that that you can keep in, you know, the compartments of your bike, you can keep in your jacket, you know, something like that. Even better, and this was a great recommendation from someone in the group and I looked it up super cheap ultimately for what it’s gonna do for you and that is sensors they can put on the stem of your tire.

Looks like there were running about $39.99 for two of them, which is all you need obviously and what those do is they will blink red for up to 750 hours straight if your tire pressure is too low. So that can give you yet another reminder. Oh yeah, I got to be checking my air pressure or in that situation I’ve got low pressure. I need to get air in the tire those are called ride on LED smart caps.

So Google them, there’s a number of providers or local motorcycle shop probably has them. Give them a call, see if they have them or you can get them on Amazon, a lot of these other sites. Again, 40 bucks, you know, to save a life or to not be injured because of losing your bike with low tire pressure obviously is very worth it. So anyway, just a quick tip for you here on tire pressure.

Check those tires, keep them with proper error in them and get some sensors. It’s the easiest way to do it. That way you will never have the risk of running low. Thanks for watching this video. As always, comment below with any experiences on tire pressure, things like that for this video, love to hear from you and until next time. Thanks for watching.
