Most people who see semi-trucks on the road don’t usually take the time to consider just how important they are to our everyday lives. If it weren’t for these vehicles, we wouldn’t be able to buy groceries at a store, have deliveries go out to our homes, everyday ordinary things wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for these trucks. It’s the perfect explanation for why you see so many of them on the road rather than so few. As of 2016 there are about 2.8 million trucks registered in just the U.S. alone.

It might be mind boggling to know that a maximum 80,000 pounds is what a semi-truck and trailer can carry. That just goes to show you the number of items these vehicles can carry for us. About 68 percent of all goods in the U.S. are delivered by truck which means that if somehow a semi-truck doesn’t make it to its destination, we stand to lose something. These truck drivers’ workdays and nights and travel very far distances, they go out of their way for us so much that they often sleep in the back of their truck when they get sleepy. Any semi truck sales are going to continue to increase in coming years because only better ones will be made.

New trucks start at $80,000 and run up to $150,000, a few factors go into determining the price like whether it’s a day cab or sleeper, size of the truck, etc. Prices of these vehicles are a key indicator of how important they are. With time they will most likely only get better especially with electric semi-trucks making their way into the space. One thing about them is their supposed to be able to carry the same 80,000 pounds but at the same time being able to go 0 to 60 in 20 seconds.

Ever since the electric semi-trucks were introduced, a nonstop flood of companies has been pre ordering them. It shouldn’t be surprising though; anyone can so clearly see that these vehicles have tremendous potential. Costs of all the pre-orders was probably a large amount of money but all the companies that place their orders are probably thinking that it is well worth the investment.

Therefore the goods stored in the trucks will be safe from harm and that alone is a huge money saver and when you add those less likely accidents to every electric truck that any single company will have then picturing just how beneficial the trucks will be to them isn’t hard to imagine at all. By far the biggest advantage of the electric semi’s is the potential for lower cost through savings on gas. They will be able to go 300 – 500 miles before needing another charge. Electric semi-trucks have started a wave of their own because this is all anyone who is in the truck business seems to talk about.
